FLINT -- A number of Mid-Michigan volleyball teams are now just one victory away from the regional tournament, as Wednesday's district semi-finals are now in the books.

In Class-A, Swartz Creek outlasted Holly in five exciting sets, 3-2, to set up a showdown with Grand Blanc on Friday evening for the District 8A crown.  The Dragons and Bronchos exchanged each of the first four sets, before closing out their Flint Metro rivals with a 15-9 triumph in the fifth set.  Swartz Creek will now meet Grand Blanc in the district finals, as the Bobcats upset Flint Metro champ Fenton in the other semi-final.

Over in Class-B, Flint Powers swept Goodrich by a 3-0 final, but the match was much tighter than the score indicates.  The Chargers slipped past the Martians in the first two sets by identical, 25-23 scores, before closing them out in the third set to earn the sweep.  The victory earns the Chargers a trip to the District 56B title game, where they will take on host school Mt. Morris on Thursday evening, at 6 p.m.
