LINDEN -- The opportunity Lake Fenton had waited nearly three weeks for quickly evaporated, and Goodrich left no doubts as to who rules the GAC Red.
Seeking to avenge a 56-43 loss at Goodrich back on February 6th, the Blue Devils had a chance to close within one game of the conference-leading Martians with a victory on Tuesday night. But a poor start, coupled with foul trouble for star guard Dequan Horn, spelled disaster for the Blue Devils, who fell by a 59-45 final. The victory gave Goodrich a 9-0 GAC Red record, and virtually assures them a conference title. Lake Fenton fell to 6-3 in the conference.
In other action from Tuesday, Grand Blanc overcame a five-point halftime deficit on their home floor to come back and defeat Big Nine rival Carman-Ainsworth. The Cavaliers owned a 31-26 lead at the halfway point - led by a 17-point effort from Jaylen Larry through just two quarters - but the Bobcats took command of the second half and earned a 62-58 win. The victory strengthened the Bobcats' hold on second place in the Big Nine, with a 7-3 record. The inconsistent Cavaliers fell to 5-4 with the loss.
