MT. MORRIS TWP. -- Morris Peterson says he learned the importance of giving back to the community a long time ago.
For three days this week, Mo Pete is giving back not only his time, but his money to make sure Flint kids stay on the right path.
"At Michigan State we did things a lot different than at other places. We really care about each other. I think Coach Izzo and those guys did a great job with us, as far as teaching us about basketball, and about life," says Peterson, who puts on the three day Flint Stone camp for free.
Joining Peterson as a camp counselor at Flint Northwestern Academy is former Michigan State teammate Mateen Cleaves.
"I get into it. You come in here, you've got to get something out of it. We're going to work when they come in here," says Cleaves, who stole the show Wednesday by leading the campers in breakdown drills at the end of the morning session.
