BURTON -- The following is a press release from Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton:
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton announced today that he will not authorize criminal charges against Brad Barksdale for his actions that led to the fatal shooting of a man at a poker hall in Burton
On July 1, 2009, Matthew James Kalahar was fatally shot by Barksdale inside Gloria’s Poker Palace, 1110 E. Bristol Road in Burton, after an armed and masked Kalahar entered the premises in an apparent robbery attempt.
Prosecutor Leyton said that a review of the investigative reports in the case determined that Brad Barksdale acted reasonably under the circumstances and, therefore, criminal charges will not be authorized against him for his actions arising out of the incident.
