Salvation Army kicks off Christmas assistance program

FLINT - The Salvation Army will be taking applications for Christmas assistance from Monday, November 2nd through Friday, November 6th. Those in need of food and toys this holiday season have the option of two locations to apply this year.

Where: The Salvation Army 
              211 W. Kearsley St.
              Flint, MI

             The Salvation Army Beecher Corps.
             1475 W. Coldwater Rd.
              Flint, MI

The Salvation Army's Christmas Assistance Program is intended to help those who would otherwise be unable to celebrate Christmas. To sign up for help, you must bring the following documents with you:

* Current ID for all adults in the household (Michigan driver's license or Michigan state ID)

* Proof of dependents in the home (Social Security card, birth certificates, or updated vaccination records)

* Current bills (Bills must contain the name and address of the individual applying for assistance)

* Proof of income (Pay stubs, child support statement, Social Security, SSI, SSDI, DHS statement, unemployment workman's comp., etc.)
