The following is a message from Rep. Dave Camp:

The table below, released by Ways and Means Ranking Member Dave Camp (R-MI), compares the White House's February 2009 projection of the number of jobs that would be created by the 2009 stimulus law (through the end of 2010) with the actual change in state payroll employment through September 2009 (the latest figures available). According to the data, 49 States and the District of Columbia have lost jobs since stimulus was enacted: only North Dakota has seen net job creation following the February 2009 stimulus.

“Michigan, which consistently has the nation’s highest unemployment rate, has been particularly hard-hit by the failings of the stimulus plan,” said Camp.  “It is clear from today’s jobs report that stimulus has failed to do what it promised and failed to create jobs for American workers.  Eight months after the President signed the stimulus bill, we are all still asking: where are the jobs?  Instead of jobs, the American people got record deficits.”

Michigan has lost the 4th-most jobs under the President’s stimulus plan, a fact Camp said he was unfortunately not surprised by given his recent meetings and visits to mid- and northern-Michigan employers.

“It didn’t need to be this way,” said Camp, who authored his own jobs plan that was estimated to have created twice the jobs at half the cost.

While President Obama claimed the result of his stimulus bill would be the creation of 3.5 million jobs, the nation has already lost a total of 2.7 million – a difference of 6.2 million jobs.  To see how stimulus has failed Michigan and other states, see the table below:

Point ur crooked finger at yourself Camp

The real failure is you Dave Camp. You have been part of the failure of Michigan jobs for the last decade by complaining and blaming others when you have the power to change things. You need to go Camp since your part of the problem on why Michigan is constantly losing jobs. Of course you will claim your proposal would have worked better since it was never enacted or pursued by anyone other than you. Be a part of a solution instead of a part of the complainers. Dave Camp, your camping permit for Michigan is expired and needs to be revoked.

What has he done

And so I ask what has he done?

If the stimulus is a failure then he to must be a failure. He is apart of government no matter what he side he is on. Instead of complaining about maybe he could turn a bad situation and make it better.

Wow!

Finally someone with the balls to call it as it is. The stimulus is a failure. Had the money been handed to "we the people" this country would be doing just fine. People would have bought cars, refrigerators, clothing, toys, or they could have paid on their bills, or a vacation.
The trickle down effect does NOT work when it comes to money. It has never worked and it never will.
The stimulus was supposed to create jobs NOW! That was why it was rushed thru so fast nobody could even take the time to read the thing. Michigan...had to fill the holes in the leaky bucket from last years budget deficit, so it really never made it off Jenny's desk. 400 jobs...when we need 400,000 jobs, just doesn't cut it. Especially when the idiots that ran their companies into the ground, got million dollar bonuses. That's my money that was given to them. That's YOUR money just handed to them for doing an incredibly crappy job, at their job! Taking money from you and I (and our kids) to give bonuses to already overpaid bigwigs, is literally taking from the poor to give to the rich. The rich get richer compliments of the B.O. himself!
Yeah. I really think we need to do this again. It worked so well the first time around!

Doing nothing is better?

Posted by Reality Check, MQT - Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 8:53 p.m.

So, Mr. Representative, would you have preferred them to do nothing?

How many of your constituents have received more weeks of unemployment benefits? How many have received food stamps or medical assistance because of the stimulus? How many of your construction workers were working this year on roads and such?

And how many of your constituents would have preffered to have none of these things that were made available to them, courtesy of the stimulus?

Either come up with some answers to the problems or continue to bury your head in the sand and "just say no."
