Welcome to Alma, Michigan, home to Alma College and affectionately known as Scotland, U.S.A. It is the earliest settlement of Scottish in the United States and the community is celebrating it's 150th anniversary this year. The Scottish are known for a very loud musical instrument, the bagpipes and it's Bryan's turn to learn how to play them!

After putting on a Kilt, we attempted to play them. It was so hard for Bryan because he had to keep the bagpipes full of air the ENTIRE TIME! That was even hard for him and he's a long winded gas bag...by his own admission! It would normally take someone 2 years to be able to play the bagpipes, decently and he tried it in less than 30 minutes! He tried and that's what counts!

The Highland Days will occur this weekend and expect a big turnout in Alma!
