Firewood ban lifted

Emerald ash borer has spead across the UP where the Michigan Department of Agriculture is focusing it resources

Because of the aggressive spread of the emerald ash borer the state of Michigan has changed it's restrictions on transporting firewood in the Lower Peninsula.

You can now legally move firewood anywhere in the Lower Peninsula although government officials are still asking you not to. The emerald ash borer has spread it's way north through the state and is beginning to make it's way into the Upper Peninsula. The Michigan Department of Agriculture says that is where they want to focus their resources. Lifting the restrictions in the Lower Peninsula will allow the government more resources in the UP.
