Every Monday, we introduce you to someone who's doing something good for others in Mid-Michigan.

We call them NBC25 Mid-Michigan Heroes.

Pastor Keith O'Neal is a Good Samaritan, who right now, is in the middle of a huge coat drive.

"Get those items that are sitting at the end of the rack, probably wont be worn again and give them to someone who lives in the community and needs those items and can use them immediately," says Pastor Keith.

Pastor Keith, who heads up a group called Restoration-net-dot-org, is also know for other efforts.

One of them, helping to raise money to bring a little Fenton boy named Jared home.

Jared is being treated for a form of cancer, but to come home and live with his family again, his house had to be renovated to make it germ free.

Pastor Keith helped raise $70,000 for that effort.

"I love helping people. Whether its to build a home for a little boy who's got cancer , whether providing parties for teenagers or providing coats hats and gloves for people who are cold," Pastor Keith says.

John Cassandro, who volunteers with Pastor Keith says, "Pastor Kieth has been doing this a long time and to have a man with his heart and his dignity to step in and run a program like this, it says a load."

The slogan for the coat drive is, "if you don't wear it, share it."

They take hats, coats and mittens, but you can also give cash donations.

"I believe as a Christian, we are lights of the world. But lights don't talk, I believe they shine. So I have a tendency to put away the bull horn and the bible and let my light shine by doing things I believe God wants us to do," says Pastor Keith.

"I don't consider myself a hero. I consider that boy that bought me $2 for Jared's house to be a hero, that senior citizen who donated $500 dollars from her fixed income. I consider her a hero. I consider the businesses and people who stood behind these efforts to be heroes."
