EAST TAWAS, Michigan - An East Tawas youth who allegedly attacked another with a machete will be tried as an adult, according to an Iosco County News-Herald report.

Brandon Lee Brodt, 16, allegedly struck 17-year-old Tawas City resident Seth Thomas in the arm, then hit him in the face with the 18-inch blade. This followed a verbal argument between the two Tawas varsity football players, according to Tawas Police Authority Chief Mark Ferguson.

The incident occurred at Brodt’s home at 328 Lakewood Dr. on Saturday about 8:30 p.m. Police say alcohol was a factor, with Brodt blowing a .18 blood alcohol content reading on a preliminary breath test.
