Criminal charges will not be filed against the Bay City Police Department in the taser death of a 14- year old boy. 14- year old Brett Elder was tased by police when he allegedly tried to fight off police who were called to the scene by the boy's aunt when several teenagers showed up drinking. Bay County prosecutor Kurt Asbury says charges will not be filed.

An autopsy was done an March 23, 2009 and confirmed that both the high level of alcohol and the taser caused the boy's death.

In a statement prosecutor Asbury stated. "the unfortunate reality of the situation was that the under-aged brett elder was very intoxicated... and without any meaningful adult supervision or guidance, placed himself in a situation which resulted in his death."

They were trying to control him, not kill him. Or, they would have simply used a firearm. It would be a much better tool for the job.

Give us back REAL policemen

Groups of policemen here in MI are not tough enough or smart enough to subdue one drunk teen? A call for assistance gets what? A strong arm for help? Nope, a guy with a an taser who electrocutes a handcuffed kid.

Tell me again who is it that they "Protect and Serve?"

14 old doing something stupid

Is what 14 olds do. And for that crime, they must be killed. Because there isn't any other options - like grown men taking charge of the situation and do their job properly. No, it's easier to kill them. Welcome to the Thunderdome USA 2009.
