Famous actor Sean Astin who has starred in movies like "Lord of the Rings" and the flick "Rudy" stopped at Kettering University in Flint Sunday to urge students to vote.  Astin is in Michigan right now filming a movie in Dearborn. He'll be starring in the film, "Demoted," expected to come out in 2009.

Astin tells NBC25 that voting is the least Americans can do for the benefit of our country.

"It's a non-partisan issue no matter who you vote for, either side, none of the above," Astin said. "We've got 4500 some odd troops in Iraq who have given their lives, almost 1000 troops in Afghanistan who have given their lives and to me, as a citizen, to sign up to register to vote is an indication of how sacred our democracy is and that to me is the least we should do as citizens."

Astin will be in Michigan another three weeks working on his new film.
