GRAND BLANC -- From Serra Automotive:
Serra Automotive, the nation’s 16th largest privately-held automotive group, announced plans today to purchase Genesee County-based dealership Superior Pontiac-Cadillac, effective June 30.
Once the sale has been finalized, both Cadillac and Pontiac brands will be available at Serra Automotive’s flagship location, the Al Serra Auto Plaza, located on South Saginaw in Grand Blanc.
“This is exciting news for all of our customers and all of Genesee County,” said Serra Automotive President Joe Serra. “With the addition of Cadillac and Pontiac, the Al Serra Auto Plaza will offer practically every vehicle in the GM family.”
According to Serra, Cadillac will move into the Hummer showroom, which will be renamed Al Serra Cadillac-Hummer. Pontiac will be housed in the current Buick-GMC facility and become Al Serra Buick-Pontiac-GMC.
Also making the move to the Al Serra Auto Plaza will be Superior Pontiac-Cadillac General Manager Gordy Taylor. Taylor brings more than 25 years of automotive dealership management experience and a legacy of community involvement that includes his active support of the National Kidney Foundation, the United Negro College Fund and a multitude of other area charities.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Gordy join our management team,” says Serra. “Someone of Gordy’s knowledge and reputation would surely have several options open to him. So we feel extremely fortunate and honored that he’s coming on board with us.”
Serra went on to say that Taylor’s Cadillac and Pontiac experience will prove invaluable to the Al Serra Auto Plaza and that he’s glad that all his long-time customers can still count on seeing the same friendly face that they know in a new location.
The Al Serra Auto Plaza includes Al Serra Chevrolet, Al Serra Buick-GMC, Al Serra Hummer, Honda of Grand Blanc and also Nissan of Grand Blanc. All of these franchises are part of the Serra Automotive network, which currently consists of 22 dealerships across the country and employs more than 1,500 people.
