Local Marine Units Urge Customers to Support Their Communities This Christmas By Donating Toys on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6

WHO: Babies“R”Us stores nationwide will host Toys for Tots representatives as they help Flint-area residents kick off the annual holiday toy drive to benefit the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Through this partnership, Babies“R”Us stores will help Toys for Tots provide children in need with gifts during the holiday season. 

Local representatives from Toys for Tots will be stationed at Babies“R”Us stores on Thursday, November 5 and Friday November 6 to help accept donations from customers.  All toy donations made at Babies“R”Us stores will stay within the community, making this a truly local program. 

WHAT: Customers may donate new, unwrapped toys and baby products at any Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us store through Sunday, December 6.  Monetary donations will be accepted at all Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us locations and online at Toysrus.com/ToysForTots through Christmas Eve.

With more than 14 million children living in poverty in the United States, Toys“R”Us is, once again, committed to bringing smiles and toys to needy children during the holiday season.  This marks the sixth year of the partnership between Toys“R”Us, Inc. and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.  As the largest retail partner in the history of Toys for Tots, Toys“R”Us, Inc. has raised more than $16.2 million and collected more than 1.4 million toys since the partnership began in 2004.

This year, four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal has taken on the role of “Shaq-A-Claus” to support the campaign.  A life-size Shaquille, complete with a Santa hat, is on display in every Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us store across the country to encourage customers to “Join Shaq. Give Back.”
