“World Champion of Public Speaking Comes to Fenton”
Lance Miller, Toastmasters International 2005 World Champion of Public Speaking will present a workshop "Finding Your Voice." The workshop will be held at the Fenton Community and Cultural Center on Thursday, November 12th from 6:30-8:30 PM. Everyone is welcome and attendance is encouraged to attend this free event. Lance will teach how to both prepare and present effective presentations
"Did your speech communicate the message you’d intended? The major element of communication is to make sure you are understood. According to Lance, “Communication is not what you said; it is what the audience thinks you said.”


Lance is an award winning speaker and trainer. He brings to the podium a unique mix of talent and life experience that has shaped his philosophy and viewpoint of the world. Lance is a graduate of Michigan State University (no hyperlink) with a degree in Food Systems, Economics and Management. As a teenager, he began working in his family's milk and ice cream company learning real life lessons while working in the processing plant, running delivery routes and managing retail stores. He gained valuable experience in understanding the importance of hard work and service in handling both employees and customers.

He has held sales and management positions with the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, Nestle, Anheuser Bush, and Katz Media Group. For 15 years he developed and managed sales and marketing programs for businesses in the fields of Law, Construction, International Finance, Alternative Health and the Internet. Lance is currently the President of Diesel TEK, Inc., (dieseltek.com) an environmental technology company that provides new cost-effective solutions to the diesel industry to reduce diesel exhaust emissions and greenhouse gases while increasing engine performance, fuel mileage and engine life.


Lance is a member of Toastmasters International (toastmasters.org) and is a Distinguished Toastmaster. He was instrumental in building his home Toastmasters club to the #4 Toastmasters Club in the world. In 2005 he emerged from a field of 28,000 contestants from 90 countries to win the title of the World Champion of Public Speaking. The Fenton Community and Cultural Center is located at 150 S.
