Hugo’s Top Tips

  • Did you know there are hundreds of different types of fruits and vegetables!! You are sure to find something you like!
  • Drink water lots and lots of water!
  • Change from regular soda or punch to no or low calorie drinks. They have less sugar than soda and still come in a variety of flavors.
  • Milk and juice are good for you, if it is low-fat or skim milk and 100% juice.
  • Limit your screen time (TV/internet/video games) to 2 hours or less a day.  Long hours of screen time drag you down. Try to get up and get moving.
  • Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Sleep is very important for you because it helps your body grow and repair itself.
  • Sweatiness and exhaustion are signs that your play was vigorous enough to burn calories.  So when you play…play HARD!
  • Just because you don’t have many kids on your block or you can’t play outside, doesn’t mean you can’t play. To get great ideas of what to do go to www.empowerme2b.org
