Dillon Collier

School: Arizona State University
Hometown: Tucson, Arizona

Dillon joined NBC25 in February of 2007 as the Weekend Sports Anchor/Weekday Sports Reporter. Although not a Michigan native, Dillon spent many of his childhood summers down river and as far north as Rose City, and has a number of close relatives in the area.

Before venturing to Mid-Michigan Dillon worked as a Sports Anchor/Sports Reporter at KGNS-TV in Laredo, Texas. Believe it or not, the border town gave Dillon his first taste of professional hockey. The Laredo Bucks are two time champions of the Central Hockey League, and Dillon was ice level for the Bucks' 2006 title clinching win in Bossier-Shreveport, Louisiana. In the summer of 2006 Dillon handled road play-by-play duties for United League Baseball's Laredo Broncos, and quickly found out that nothing beats a 14 hour bus trip.

Dillon grew up in Tucson, Arizona and played almost every sport you can imagine. He later attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. An avid ASU fan, Dillon will forever bleed Maroon and Gold. Although he can't heckle from the stands anymore, Dillon is happy to cover a vibrant sports market in Mid-Michigan.

In 2008, the Michigan Associated Press honored Dillon for a story he did on NASCAR driver Casey Mears. Dillon is also heavily involved with the Genesee Area Chamber of Commerce, taking part in career fairs and encouraging Mid-Michigan students to pursue their dreams.

In his spare time Dillon likes to work out, play the piano and spend time with his Weimaraner Hannah. He is also an instrument rated private pilot based at "Tiny" Zehnder Field in Frankenmuth, so next time you hear an airplane go overhead, look up and wave because it just might be Dillon.
